LOCAL ATTRACTIONS

We are ideally situated between Leek (Queen of the Moorlands) and Buxton (a stunning spa town), in our own private grounds with views overlooking the Roaches, the gateway to the gorgeous Peak District.

 

The location is superb for outdoor activities such as climbing, walking and cycling.

 

Attractions are too many to mention but include the Chatsworth Estate, Alton Towers, Trentham Gardens and The Pavilion Gardens in Buxton.

 

For the shopping experience – The Potteries, Bakewell (the cutest, most beautifully kept town in our opinion) and the many markets in the area mean that there is always somewhere to be.

 

We have 4 pubs serving food within walking distance of Blackshaw Grange.

1- The Three Horseshoes 0.6 miles (12 minute walk) – is a country Inn and Spa and also a wedding venue, it is dog friendly and serves food 7 days a week www.3shoesinn.co.uk

 

2- Ye Olde Rock Inn is 1.3 miles (30 minutes walk) – is a family owned & run country pub which is open Wednesday – Sunday serving food all day until 8.30pm www.yeolderockinn.com

 

3- The Reform Inn is 1.6 miles (40 minutes walk) – is open 6 days a week, closed Monday and serves food until 8.30pm www.thereforminn.co.uk

We are situated on the Buxton Road, 40 minute walk will take you into the market town of Leek with it’s abundance of independent shops and pubs/restaurants, there really is something for everyone including the Foxlowe Arts Centre with a theatre company, films, gallery and café.  Check their website for details of what’s on during your stay www.foxloweartscentre.org.uk

We are situated on the edge of the Peak District National Park, which is a haven for walkers, rock climbers and ramblers, overlooking the Roaches

Tittesworth Water Sports & Activity Centre, is one of the largest independent activity centres in Staffordshire based on the shores of the Tittesworth Reservoir offering canoeing, kayaking and paddleboarding activities for all the family.  On the other side of Tittesworth Reservoir is the visitor centre with a fantastic waterview restaurant and great playground and walks

 

Rudyard Lake is a scenic reservoir, where you can  enjoy walking, boating, sailing, fishing and steam train rides at this family-friendly destination.

 

For bird lovers there is the RSPB Coombes Valley Nature Reserve which includes a play trail, woodland walks and plenty of wildlife
